Google buys Wiz, the cloud security company (2025–2026)
Wiz, a New York-based cloud security platform, had its purchase announced by Google on March 18, 2025, for US$32 billion in cash. Antitrust review took about a year; the United States, the European Commission, Australia, Israel and others cleared it without conditions. The deal closed on March 11, 2026, and Wiz became part of Google Cloud, keeping its own brand, with a promise to keep serving customers who use multiple clouds.
