Google announces Chrome OS (2009)

Ten months after the browser, Sundar Pichai and Linus Upson announced on the official blog a lightweight open source operating system aimed first at netbooks. The architecture ran Chrome in a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel, and the first devices were expected in the second half of 2010.

There is no official image with documented origin for this record yet. The museum prefers showing no image to using one of uncertain origin.
